A 12 week series for strength training. Two 30 minute strength training class a week using weights and resistance band loops targeting the whole body. Variations and options will be offered to help everyone work at their best level and adapt for the needs of their own body. Other props that might be useful: a chair, the wall, yoga blocks, step stool.
There will be two live Zoom classes a week for the first 6 weeks. For the second 6 weeks we will use the video recordings of the first 12 classes to continue strengthening but increasing load and trying different variations. 

For the first 6 weeks students can participate during the live Zoom class or use the recorded video at their convenience. During the second 6 weeks Becca will send a weekly encouragement email with links to the video recordings in order to continue the strength training benefits.

To participate in the series you will need minimum level of equipment:
  • 2 sets of hand weights - one lighter and one heavier
  • 2-5 resistance band loops - lighter to heavier 
  • chair
  • wall
Optional 
  • one heavy weight - kettle bell, dumbbell, weighted ball
  • yoga blocks
  • Step stool or sturdy low table
The more sizes of weights you have the more options and variations you will be able to choose from. The load to start with depends on your and your current level of muscle strength. I'm starting with 4 and 8 pound hand weights, you may need a few pounds lower or higher. We will each adjust our number of exercise repetitions and sets based on the load we have available.

This weekend I picked up some additional hand weights at Dick's sporting goods and they also had three pack sets of resistance band loops. I purchased a set of 5 loops from Fit Simply online. You can get started with just a few items and add more as you get stronger.
